PROYECTO COMENIUS ACTUAL

"MAGICAL TOUR TO WATER WORLD"

Los 7 centros que nos acompañan para compartir esta increíble aventura son:

POLAND (COORDINATOR)

Primary School No. 38 in Lodz - Poland
Szkoła Podstawowa nr 38
im. dr Henryka Jordana w Łodzi

Primary School No. 38 in LodzPoland is a middle-size primary school (with 225 pupils and 37 staff) situated in an urban environment in the third large city of Poland. Lodz is a fast-developing industrial and business centre located in the very heart of Poland. The student age level is 6-12, and the education cycle lasts 6 years and it is divided in a lower and upper primary stage. There are about 20 pupils in each class.
Along with fostering the development of gifted children we focus on supporting pupils from socially/economically disadvantaged backgrounds, being of risk of social exclusion (pupils from dysfunctional families affected by addictions and poverty, pupils with special educational need, euro orphans).
One of the main priorities is to promote healthy and ecologically friendly lifestyles among the school's community, incl. proper eco-friendly approach to surrounding, human body, proper nutrition and respect for the wonders of nature, such as e.g. water. We have been taking part in health promoting programmes for the last 12 years, emphasizing the importance of proper diet, physical activity for the healthy development of children.
Our School for the second time has obtained funds (20 thousand Euro) from Foundation for the Development of the Education System in Warsaw for the realization of 2-year Comenius Project - Multilateral School Partnerships related to LLP - Lifelong Learning Programme.

Primary School No. 38 in Lodz, is the author of the project titled "Magical Tour to Water World", that has been entirely compiled by members of staff from our school. The staff include: Project's coordinator Ms Magdalena Bednarek-Majda - community room teacher, Mr Zbigniew Kazuń - head teacher, Ms Kinga Czarnojan and Ms Anna Olszyca - English teachers, Ms Sylwia Jasińska - deputy head of a school and Ms Wioletta Sykuła-Troszczyńska - coordinator in the I - III grades and Ms Teresa Grudzińska - Science teacher in the IV - VI grades.
We feel we posses the potential and capability for an effective project cooperation, which, we believe, will lead to adopting more eco-friendly and healthier attitudes by the participants on the way of exchanging experience within our partner group. Emphasis will be also placed on developing ICT, foreign language competences, raising awareness of the cultural heritage of Europe, possible through direct contacts of pupils and staff from different countries.

Ysgol Bod Alaw is a 3 - 11 years of age through Primary School, located in the seaside town of Colwyn Bay in North Wales. The school serves a wide local area which has become anglicized over time. We are a designated Welsh Primary school, with all our education delivered through the medium of Welsh for 3 - 7 year old pupils, and bilingually to pupils from 7 - 11 years of age. Approximately 75% of our pupils come from English speaking homes, however all our pupils leave school fully bilingual in Welsh and English and achieve a high standard in both languages. The school is committed to developing our pupils understanding of themselves as global citizens, in order to understand their place in the World, the similarities and differences that exist between differing nations, languages and cultures. We are committed participants in the project and look forward to creating links; enriching our literacy and numeracy curriculum by way of the project work and offering our pupils the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Europe and its member states.
